About Rock Steady Boxing Eastern Island
The Coaches in Eastern Island Rock Steady Boxing are both licensed Physical Therapists who have extensive experience in working with individuals with Parkinson's disease and are passionate about helping people with Parkinson's disease to improve and maintain their quality of life.
Susan Thomas - Head Coach
Susan has been practicing in the Long Island, NY area for the past 18 years. She completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at Stony Brook University.
Susan is certified in Rock Steady Boxing as well as LSVT BIG and BIG For Life . Susan has been working as an adjunct faculty member at Stony Brook University for the past seven years.
Over the course of her 12 year career at Northwell Health – Southside Hospital, Susan has extensive experience working in acute, sub-acute and outpatient settings treating multiple injuries and degenerative conditions. Susan has broad experience in working with Parkinson’s Disease patients and is very passionate in working with this population.
Lori Hochman - Coach
Lori has been practicing in the Long Island, NY area for the past 20 years. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane
University and her Masters in Physical Therapy from Long Island University. She completed her Doctorate of Philosophy degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Lori has extensive background working in a variety of settings and has broad experience in working with a variety of neurological conditions and believes everyone has the ability to exercise. Lori is certified in LSVT Big and Rock Steady Boxing. Lori is an Assistant Professor at New York Institute of Technology and her research interests include studying the impact of exercise intensity in the neurological population and the use of technology in rehabilitation.
